Govt to re-launch laptop scheme for youth, announces SAPM Shaza

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced that the government will restart the laptop scheme this year under the umbrella of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.

In a press conference today, SAPM said that 100,000 laptops will be provided to the youth under the scheme.

Lamenting that the previous government stopped the scheme, he pointed out that the laptops provided by the previous PML-N government had enabled the youth to continue their studies and jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Enabled.

Shahzah said that the government has also started the National Innovation Award to promote start-up culture among the youth.

SAPM said that the government is also paying special attention to the promotion of healthy activities among the youth.

As part of these efforts, he pointed out that around 54,000 children participated in various games during the past one year. He recalled that hockey trials were conducted in 25 regions and volleyball trials in 28 regions.

SAPM also announced that registration for youth football trials across Pakistan has begun.
