When is the next federal holiday in the US?
With summer just around the corner, that means Americans will soon be celebrating their next federal holiday, Memorial Day.
On Monday, May 29, Americans will celebrate Memorial Day, which falls on the last Monday in May each year and honors the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military.
The holiday, originally known as Decoration Day, began after the Civil War, before becoming an official federal holiday in 1971.
First introduced by Congress in 1885 when it was decided that federal employees should have days off from work, the list of U.S. Federal holidays It consists of 11 days of significance that Americans recognize – and celebrate.
