“Progress” on debt limit negotiations with default deadline a week away

We’re just a week away from the June 1 deadline when Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says the U.S. could begin defaulting if the debt ceiling isn’t raised. Both sides say negotiations Wednesday remained “productive,” but there is still no deal, with the House set to begin a week-long Memorial Day recess.
