Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir said on Thursday that whatever happened on May 9 – the day Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan took over the country in violent protests. – was extremely sad and reprehensible.

He expressed these views on the occasion of his visit to Police Lines Headquarters in Islamabad. Pakistan Martyrs Day (Martyrs’ Day) To remember and pay tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives defending the motherland and its people.

The main event was held at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi where COS Munir was the chief guest. During the ceremony, great tributes were paid to the martyrs and important personalities placed flowers on the memorial martyrs.

Former Army Chief General (Rtd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General (Rtd) Nadeem Raza, Pakistan Cricket Team Captain Babar Azam, Mufti Muneebur Rehman and other members of the society participated in the ceremony.

The Army Chief was received by Inspector General of Police (IG) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan where he addressed the police officials and the families of the martyred police personnel and personnel.

“Such behavior will not be tolerated,” the army chief said, adding that the nation will forgive or forget those who desecrate the memorials of the martyrs and insult their dignity.

General Munir said that Pakistan Army, police and law enforcement agencies are the symbol and first line of defense of the state who will make sacrifices for the dignity of the country and people.

He said that I want to convey a message to the heirs of these martyrs that the people of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army stand with the families of the martyrs of all law enforcement agencies and will continue to do so.

General Munir also invited Martyr Sepoy Imran’s daughter Ezra, whose video condemning the events of May 9 went viral. The Army Chief assured them that the sacrifices of the martyrs will never be forgotten.

Pakistan Army will stand with you in every difficulty, he said that all martyrs of the country are a source of pride.

The Army Chief also met the school students and children of the martyrs present on the occasion. He said that Pakistan Army is the heir of the children of all the martyrs. He said that thanks to the eternal sacrifices of the martyrs, the relationship of the army with them is ideal and eternal.

President Alvi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s expression of pride on the bravery of the martyrs

President Arif Alvi said in his message that the entire nation is proud of its brave martyrs who showed patriotism and fearlessness in the trying hours of history.

“The nation is indebted to the bravery and sacrifices of the jawans (soldiers) and officers of our armed forces, including the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Air Force, Navy, Police and other security agencies who made Pakistan’s defense impregnable.” A statement issued by the press wing of the President’s Secretariat said.

The President acknowledged the services of the armed forces in crushing the menace of terrorism and helping the countrymen during natural calamities and epidemics.

Let us pledge on this day that we will never forget our brave martyrs and reaffirm our resolve to always honor them and express our undying love for these brave sons and daughters of the nation.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif urged the public, especially children, to visit the memorials and graves of martyrs and shower flowers on them as a sign of love and respect. He said that Pakistan should show the world that it is a nation that holds its martyrs with devotion and love.

He said that Martyrs’ Day is being celebrated to pay tribute to the heroes and show unwavering solidarity with their families.

In a detailed tweet, the Prime Minister expressed regret over the May 9 violence and the desecration of martyrs’ memorials, saying that these incidents gave the enemy a reason to celebrate.

“Our nation knows how to protect the honor of its martyrs. […] Today we renew and reiterate our pledge to honor our martyrs. The essence of Pakistan’s existence lies in the spiritual bond between its people and martyrs,” the prime minister wrote on Twitter.

Additionally, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chiefs of Trilateral Services, retired service officers and civil society representatives also paid tributes to the martyrs of Pakistan, said a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations. .

He said that the sacrifices of the martyrs are eternal and will continue to influence the future generations of the country.

“These sacrifices will never be forgotten, regardless of the vicious propaganda of Pakistan’s enemies,” it added.
