PM Shehbaz reiterates resolve to bring May 9 rioters to justice

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday reiterated his firm resolve to bring all those responsible for the May 9 incidents to justice.
Addressing the “Uzmat-e-Shuhada Convention” organized to pay homage to the country’s martyrs, the Prime Minister blamed the elements behind the May 9 riots and attacks on civil and military installations, including the General Headquarters (GHQ). Expressed determination to deliver. Justice should be done from Corps Commander House (Jinah House) in Rawalpindi and Lahore Cantt.

He reiterated that the entire nation would not allow such ‘brutal incidents’ to happen in future. The Prime Minister assured that as the Chief Executive of the country, it is his responsibility to ensure legal action under the law and constitution against all rioters and miscreants who have planned attacks on various civilian and military installations almost across the country. The prime minister assured that the law would take its course, stressing that those behind the incidents would not be spared and pardoned because ‘they have crossed the red line’.
However, he reiterated that no innocent person would be implicated in these criminal cases.
Referring to the tragic events of that day, he said that if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had incited his followers to create such havoc.
“Martyr Ms. Benazir Bhutto, Martyr Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif faced arrests and trials on baseless charges, but their followers never turned violent and harmed the country.”

He termed the events of May 9 as the most tragic in the country’s history and said that on the other hand, the PTI chief was arrested in a corruption case, but before that he was inciting his followers to spread violence by attacking various citizens. . Military installations in case of his arrest
Shahbaz Sharif said that the entire nation wants an answer from the PTI leadership as to why Awan Quaid, Radio Pakistan and other buildings were vandalized and burnt to ashes.
He further said that even after waging war in 1965, India could not succeed in its nefarious ambitions, but the leadership of PTI and its followers caused a lot of damage to the country, the nation will not forgive it.
The Prime Minister said that Quaid’s Pakistan was established due to the sacrifices of martyrs, they left behind orphans but saved the future generations.
Paying homage to the martyrs, he said that the nation’s martyrs did not even care about their lives, thus peace was established for the nation. “All this happened because of their precious blood which they shed for the nation and its future. It was because of their sacrifices that the business of life continued.”
The Prime Minister said that these martyrs did not belong to any party or group, they are respected by the nation and it should be kept in mind that by holding the Martyrs’ Convention, he reiterated his determination that the martyrs should be equally respected. Respect and love will remain. be maintained forever.
He further said that if there is any problem including terrorist threats within the country or on the country’s borders, the officers and men of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and police force face them bravely.
The Prime Minister also emphasized on enlightening the young generation with the ideals of the founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, including democratic values, patience and tolerance.
The Prime Minister also visited various family members of the martyrs and interacted with them. Families of martyrs, Governors, Members of Parliament, Ministers, Provincial Ministers, Ambassadors, Legislators, Civil Society members, Ulemas and senior officials participated in the convention in large numbers.
