Firearms found in car allegedly travelling from Ali Amin Gandapur’s residence
Bhakkar: A large number of firearms were recovered from a car allegedly leaving the residence of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader. Ali Amin Gandapur According to the police, Lahore.
During a security check at Bhakkar police check post, law enforcement officials tried to stop a car coming from Dera Ismail Khan for checking, but the drivers tried to escape and broke the barrier. Geo News Police authorities were informed.
He further said that when the car was stopped and searched by other officials, ammunition was recovered from it.
According to the police, 22 rifles, 47 magazines and 187 bullets were recovered during the search.
Two persons were subsequently arrested and a case was registered against them, the police confirmed.
In the First Information Report (FIR), the accused claimed that the weapon was with a private security company, which was hired by the PTI leader for security. He said that the firearms were being taken back to Lahore from the Gandapur residence as the agreement between the two parties was ending.
Bhakkar DPO Mohammad Naveed confirmed that the accused also submitted an authorization letter from the security company to the police, which the police is verifying.

According to the police, Gandapur allegedly created a scene at the Dajjal check post on his way to Dera Ismail Khan.
Bhakkar police spokesperson said that Gandapur’s car was stopped at the Dujl check post due to high speed. After stopping the vehicle, the PTI leader and his accomplices opened fire at the checkpoint and left during a heated argument.
Police say all vehicles are checked in at security posts along the border between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. Gandapur and his men escaped after creating a scene and firing, police said.
Subsequently, a case was registered and under 13 sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), including terrorism, and the four guards of Gandapur were detained, while their vehicle was impounded.
