Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has been embroiled in a legal battle since his election. Dismissed as Prime Minister In April last year and the authorities claim that Registered About 100 cases are registered against him across the country.
The former prime minister had approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to know the details of the cases registered against him in the federal capital.
During today’s proceedings, Khan’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said that several cases were registered against his client.
“We were asked to join the investigation, but no one is willing to pick up the phone calls,” he complained.
On this, IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq directed the police authorities to get in touch with the petitioner’s lawyer and provide details of the First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against the PTI chief.
Subsequently, the police in their report informed the court that a total of 29 FIRs have been registered against Khan in the capital, out of which 28 by the police and one by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
One FIR has been closed and seven are under investigation, while 20 cases are pending in courts, the report said.
After providing the details of the FIR, the court disposed of the case.
