According to the army’s media wing, President Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, D. “The officer was laid to rest at the Army Cemetery with full military honors in recognition of his services to the nation,” the statement said.
During his military career, Brigadier Barki was involved in counter-terrorism operations and successfully dismantled several terrorist networks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the army’s media wing said. “Brigadier Birki and his team put up a valiant resistance against the terrorists during the encounter and the officer laid down his life for the peace of the motherland,” ISPR said.
