Zaman Park raid: PTI to register cases against ‘all police officers’ defying court orders

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry said on Sunday that the party will file cases against police officers involved in illegal operations and violence during raids to arrest Chairman Imran Khan. Zaman Park Residence in Lahore
A day earlier, when the PTI chief left for a court appearance at the Islamabad Judicial Complex, the Punjab Police resumed operations at his residence, ransacking it and arresting several party workers.
On Twitter, Fawad said that the party has called a meeting with its legal team.
“A meeting of the legal team has been called today, as the police violated the Lahore High Court order. Imran Khan’s The residence violated every principle of the sanctity of the home. [things were] theft [They] Juice boxes were also taken away. Innocent people were tortured,” he tweeted.
The party leader wrote that what happened in Islamabad, including all the incidents, is one of the reasons for the ongoing constitutional crisis in the country.
“To deny Court The order is inexcusable. The High Court should protect its decision. Cases are being registered against all police officers who committed illegal acts and were involved in violence,” Fawad wrote on the micro-blogging site.
PTI workers attack elite force van
On the other hand, PTI activists attacked the Punjab Police Elite Force and its van while returning from the final match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) last night. Geo News reported on Sunday.
The Punjab government has decided to take action against those involved in the attack.
A spokesperson of the provincial government said that action will be taken against the miscreants who attacked the elite force team and its vehicle.
Party workers hit the van with sticks and broke its windows. They also damaged the lights and windscreen of the police van while elite force personnel ran for their lives.
The PTI workers also kept official weapons in their occupied vehicles and also stole two rifles which are still in their possession and left it completely destroyed.
A policeman was also tortured when he was returning from his duty.
Following the violence in which vehicles of the Elite Force and Police Response Unit were attacked by party workers led by Khan, Lahore police officials asked all officers going to or returning from their duty points to Change your ways.
He has advised officials not to use the Zaman Park route while heading towards Mughalpura, Lal Pul and Dharmapura, while officials in uniform have been barred from passing through the area where Khan’s house is located.
Lahore Police released the arrested students.
Meanwhile, three students arrested from Zaman Park on Saturday have been handed over to their families, Capital City Police Lahore wrote on its Twitter account.
Police said they decided not to jeopardize the future of the students and no legal action would be taken against them.
Students were advised to support their parents who appreciated the police initiative to secure the future of their children.
The students, who were asked by the police to desist from illegal activities, also promised to concentrate on their studies.
