The MSP used Twitter to update the public. about the case involving Armani Kelly, Montoya Givens and Dante Wicker, admitting that there were rumors on social media about the investigation and that parts had to be kept private.

“No one is in custody for his murder. This massacre was not random and had nothing to do with the music or the performance,” the tweets read.

“This was an incident of gang violence. There are others who know the details and we need them to come forward,” the MSP added.

The trio was originally scheduled to perform at Detroit’s Lounge 31 in January, but their show was canceled due to equipment malfunctions, and they never arrived, according to police. A young man was later arrested after their disappearance, who was driving a vehicle belonging to one of them.

In February, their bodies were found in a building at the corner of McNichols and Log Cabin in Highland Park, a town 10 minutes from Detroit. The cause of death has not been released.
