3 children die in Baltimore house fire; 2 adults in critical condition, authorities say


Three children were killed in a house fire in Baltimore early Saturday morning, authorities said.

The Baltimore Fire Department said on Twitter that firefighters rescued three children and two adults from the burning home before sunrise. Just before 5:30 a.m. local time, firefighters arrived on Broadhurst Road where a two-story house was engulfed in flames with heavy smoke, officials said.

The children died shortly after. Officials said the condition of the adults is critical.

The fire department did not release any other details about the fire, but said the cause is under investigation.
