He renewed the government’s commitment to completely eradicate this epidemic from the country.

He added that while the isolation of the virus was a cause for concern, it was great to note that it was detected so quickly. “Timely detection of the virus in the environment was crucial to prevent children from being paralyzed by the poliovirus.”

Stressing the need to vaccinate children on time, the minister said: “The only way to prevent the virus is to vaccinate all children under the age of five. It is extremely important that parents and caregivers, Especially in Lahore, make sure their child gets vaccinated in the February round.”
