At today’s hearing, the Chief Justice of the IHC inquired about the objections raised on the petition. Khan’s lawyer Khawaja Haris told him that the issue of biometric verification has been resolved.
Regarding the objections to the decision of the IHC on the previous petition, he said that the court has sent the matter to the trial court.
The Chief Justice said that we had asked the court to look into the issue of undertaking.
He said that everyone is equal before the law. “Do you want to appear in court and give assurance in this regard?” he asked.
On this, Khan’s lawyer requested the bench to suspend the arrest warrant so that the PTI chief could appear in court.
Justice Farooq warned the lawyer that if he does not fulfill the promise, he will have to bear the consequences, contempt of court action will be taken.
After which the court gave relief to Imran Khan and directed the police not to arrest him.
The IHC also ordered the district administration and Islamabad Police to provide security.
