The story begins with “Mrs. Chatterjee” moving to Norway with her husband after marriage and settling there.

In real life, Sagarika Chakraborty moved to Norway in 2007 with her geophysicist husband Anurup Bhattacharya. In 2008, the couple welcomed their first child, Abhigian, who later showed signs of autism. In 2010, Sagarika gave birth to Aishwarya.

In 2011, Norwegian child welfare services, known as Barnevernet (another name for child protection), took Abhigyan and Aishwarya to be placed in a foster home.

The Norwegian government said it had placed the couple under surveillance and deemed them unfit to raise children.
