Security forces foiled an “apparent terrorist activity” and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition. Intelligence-based operations In Balochistan Chamansaid Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday.
According to the media wing of the army, an operation was conducted on Wednesday in Boghra Road of Chaman area to search for the suspected hideout of terrorists. In addition to recent incidents of firing on law enforcement agencies and civilians in the Chaman area, the terrorists were involved in planting improvised explosive devices in the surrounding areas.
Continuous technical surveillance and reconnaissance of the area led to identification of the location of the terrorists and security forces along with CTD were also mobilized, ISPR said.
Although the terrorists escaped with a large cache of arms and ammunition, including rockets, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other paraphernalia were recovered, the army’s media wing said.
