PSL 2023: Shaheen Afridi played Qualifier with fever

Captain of Lahore Qalandars Shaheen Shah Afridi Shahid Afridi revealed that he suffered from fever after playing against Multan Sultans in the qualifiers of the ongoing season of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Talking to a local news channel, Afridi said that Shaheen was suffering from fever for the last two days and he played yesterday’s match also with temperature.

“I think you shouldn’t play if you have a fever, but he [Shaheen] “Wanted to win the match and then rest until the final,” he added.

Shaheen has taken 14 wickets at an economy rate of 8.61 in 10 matches of the ongoing season of the tournament.

It should be noted that Sultans defeated Qalandars by 84 runs in Gaddafi Stadium. Lahore on Wednesday.

With this win, Sultans made it to the finals of PSL 8 for the third year in a row.

Chasing a target of 161 runs, Qalandars were bowled out for just 76 runs in 14.3 overs.

While Sultans qualified for the finals, Qalandars will now play the second eliminator against the winner of the first eliminator.

The closing ceremony and final will be held on March 19 in Lahore, which will also host the playoffs.

The winner will not only lift the Supernova trophy but will also receive a check of Rs 120 million, while the runners-up will receive a check of Rs 48 million.

Lahore Qalandars will try to become the first team to win back-to-back titles. Meanwhile, Islamabad United aims to become the most successful team by lifting the trophy three times.
