Saqib Nisar admits meeting ex-DG ISI Faiz Hamid multiple times

Karachi: Former Chief Justice (CJP) Saqib Nisar has revealed that he had a meeting with former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt. Gen. (retd.). Faiz Hamid Several times during his tenure as the country’s highest judge.

The former chief justice claimed that he did not give any advice to the former prime minister but advised him to take decisions himself. On their second meeting, the former chief justice said that he had advised the PTI chief not to talk about opening the courts at midnight.

He said that he has suggested that Khan Sahib should refrain from unnecessarily criticizing the judiciary so as not to ruin it.

In the interview, Justice (R) Nisar also clarified that he is not in touch with the current judges of the country.

He also revealed that he had met former Army Chief General (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa twice. ‘The former army chief had the first meeting to donate while the second meeting was held in Lahore some time ago.’

The former chief justice claimed that Bajwa had told him that he had come to Lahore because he wanted to meet his friends. He said that General (R) Bajwa was not discussed in the meeting with Imran Khan.

On the continuous attack of Pakistan Muslim League (N), the former Chief Justice said that Maryam Nawaz is making fun of her by calling her Baba Dam.

Nisar said that he is being targeted because he stood for justice. Talking about Maryam Nawaz’s “anti-judiciary statement”, he said that she wants to create political chaos in the country and achieve her own interests.

The former chief judge believes that the PML-N was deprived of success and that is why it was targeting the judiciary.
