Here’s How Much Top Female Supermodels in India Earn Annually

Supermodel culture is more prevalent in foreign countries than in India. It is more developed and organized in other parts of the world unlike India. It is believed that Indian models are paid less than professionals in other fields. However, the reality is quite different.

Top Indian female models also earn more than fresh IIM graduates. In fact, social media has widened the scope of modeling with digital creators and influencers trying their luck in the modeling industry. It’s just that models in foreign countries get their fair share of work compared to actors and actresses. In contrast, the modeling industry in India is dominated by actors and actresses.

A survey was recently conducted by ETimes, which analyzed the earnings of some of the leading models and modeling agencies in India. According to the survey, the average annual salary of an Indian model is between 30 to 40 lakh rupees. In fact, it was also found that female models are paid more than their male counterparts and earn more money than a fresh graduate from the Indian Institute of Management. On the other hand, a fresh IIM graduate earns an average of Rs 25 to 30 lakh per annum.

Ricky Chatterjee, Sonalika Sahay, Lakshmi Rana, Vivek Dhiman, Bardeep Dhiman and Nitin Gupta are the highest paid models in India.

According to survey results, an Indian male model manages to earn Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh per month from advertising campaigns, advertisements and brand endorsements. On the other hand, the salary of female models can go up to Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh per month. According to industry experts, with fashion becoming more inclusive, models from all age groups and categories find work throughout the year.
