KARACHI: Pakistan’s batting duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have overtaken India’s Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan to become the most successful batting partner in T20Is.

The Indian duo had scored a total of 1,743 runs in 52 innings as batting partners before Pakistan’s Babar and Rizwan overtook them in the 36th innings when they took Pakistan’s score to 18 runs in the third over. Second T20 against England.

They also became the first batting pair in T20Is to score 1,800 runs as a batting partner.

Pakistan openers have made seven partnerships of more than 100 runs – the most by any batting partner in the shortest format of the game worldwide.
