California mom, daughter plead not guilty to murder after woman dies in illegal buttocks procedure

Oh California mother and daughter A man accused of killing a woman during a buttock augmentation procedure pleaded not guilty to murder on Tuesday.
Libby Adam, 52, and her daughter Alicia Galaz, 24, have been charged with murder following the death of 26-year-old Krissa Rajpaul during an illegal, plastic surgical procedure. The mother and daughter are also charged with three felony counts of practicing medicine without certification.
Adam and Giles were arrested last year in October 2019 for the woman’s death at a private home. According to authorities, the couple used social media to advertise their low-rate, cash-based operation.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office ruled. Rajpal’s death is a murder.. She died of acute cardiopulmonary dysfunction and intramuscular/intravascular silicone injection, records from the coroner’s office show.

Rajpal had moved to Los Angeles from South Africa to pursue a career in the adult film industry and had two similar hip procedures before it turned fatal.

When complications arose during the procedure, Adam and Galaz dialed 911 and left Rajpal at the scene. First responders arrived and transported Rajpal to the hospital, where she died later that day.
Police said, “The suspects fled the scene without identifying or notifying paramedics of the cosmetic procedure for proper life-saving protocols. As a result, the victim died in the emergency room where treating The doctor was unaware of the silicone injections.” a statement.

“Suspects Adam and Galaz are a mother and daughter team who created these inherently unsafe, non-FDA approved, cosmetic buttock augmentations. Neither are licensed medical providers in California nor their clients. Recruited through Instagram,” the statement continued.
Adam and Galaz are free on bond and are due back in court on Nov. 3, when a hearing will then be scheduled to determine if there is enough evidence to go to trial.
