Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has addressed cheating allegations after an Instagram influencer exposed seemingly flirtatious screenshots on his social media handle. Sumner Stroh, who has more than 350,000 followers on the photo-sharing platform, claimed the Girls Like You singer had been having an affair with him for almost a year. “I was in a relationship with a man who was married to a Victoria’s Secret model. At the time, I was young, I was naive, and, I mean, quite frankly, I felt exploited. ,” Stroh said in a video posted on TikTok.
The 43-year-old singer has been married to Namibian model Bahati Prinsloo for eight years. The couple have two daughters and are now expecting their third child.
However, Levin has denied these claims. He wrote in an Instagram story that ‘A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air. “I used poor judgment in having any kind of flirtatious conversation with anyone other than my wife. I didn’t have an affair; however, I used the line during a sad period in my life. Crossed.”
“In some instances it became inappropriate,” he continued, adding that he has “addressed it and taken proactive steps to remedy it with my family.” He ended his post with, “All I care about in this world is my wife and my family. To be so naive and foolish to risk the only thing that really matters to me is the biggest.” It was a mistake I could never make. I would never make it. Do it again.”
Taking to TikTok, Stroh posted a screenshot of an Instagram DM that Levine allegedly sent her “after she stopped talking to him for a few months.” It read, “Ok serious question. I’m having another baby and if it’s a boy I really want to name him Sumner. You okay with that? Dead serious.”
Responding to the criticism that came her way, Stroh posted a second video saying she wasn’t trying to play the victim. “I wasn’t trying to get sympathy in any way,” she said. “And I fully realize that I’m not the victim. I’m not the one who’s really hurting here. It’s Bahati and her children, and for that I’m very sorry.
