Princess Anne spotted wearing 25-year-old jacket from Diana’s funeral after Queen’s death – Times of India

Just like her brother, the new crown prince King Charles III, known as a climate crusader, Princess Anne or Princess Royal has repeatedly supported the sustainability movement by recycling and upcycling her clothes. And, following the sudden death of her beloved mother, Queen Elizabeth II, Anne was once again a champion of sustainable fashion, as she recycled a blazer she wore to Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997.

Often referred to as the ‘thrift princess’, Anne didn’t really care for the said royal protocols, which generally discouraged repetition of clothes and wore what she felt like over and over again.

In Edinburgh on September 13, Princess Anne looked edgy and elegant in a sleek black jacket with a beaded pin, according to Hello magazine. A fitted and flared jacket cut a feminine silhouette and elevated the royal’s respectable ensemble, which included a smart ebony pencil skirt, sheer tights and a black headpiece.

Well, the peplum jacket in question was worn by Ann to Princess Diana’s funeral 25 years ago in 1997. Anne just proved that royal style really is timeless.

In an earlier interview with Vanity Fair, the princess explained why she recycled clothes, saying, “Because I’m quite rude”.

She added: “I still try and buy materials and make them because I think it’s more fun.”

Princess Anne also emphasized the use of local tailoring techniques.

He added: “It also helps to support the people who still manufacture in this country. We mustn’t forget that we have the skills, and there are still places that would do fantastic work. are.”
