Nominees for 23rd Latin Grammy Awards was revealed on Tuesday, and Bad Bunny ended its hot season.
The Puerto Rican rapper and singer received the most nominations of any artist with ten nominations, including Album of the Year.
Rao Alejandro and Rosalia received eight nominations. Christina Aguilera, George Drexler followed with seven.
Aguilera last won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album in 2001 for her first Spanish-language record, “Mi Reflejo.”
Aguilera returned to the Latin Grammys stage last year after two decades to perform her single “Pa’ Miss Muchas” with Becky G, Nikki Nicole, and Nathi Peluso.
This year’s nominations reflect the diversity of music in the Latino industry. While reggaeton and urban have dominated commercially for the past two years and will have an understated presence at the awards, other genres such as pop, salsa and alternative are seen in the main categories.
“I’m very excited to see that there are a number of nominees this year who are also very successful commercially. It makes us very excited that we’re going to have a great celebration,” Latin Grammys President Manuel Abud told CNN en Español in an interview via Zoom.
The Latin Grammys will take place on November 17 in Las Vegas.
