Shaheer was rushed to Qatar Hospital and then shifted to Civil Hospital’s burn ward where he succumbed to his injuries after fighting for life for 35 hours.

The mother filed a case against her husband two days after her son’s death.

The police arrested the accused, after which he told the police that his son had not been studying for some days. He said that he poured kerosene and lit a match to scare his son, which accidentally set him on fire. Nazir added that he rushed his son to the hospital as soon as he heard his screams.

According to the police, Shaheer asked his father to fly a kite, on which Nazir asked his son about his studies. However, Shaheer did not respond, which angered his father.

The accused was produced in the judicial magistrate’s court where he was formally charged and handed over to the police on physical remand till September 24.
