Generally, porridge is made by boiling it in water or milk. In oatmeal, fruit and sugar are the most commonly used toppings. In response to growing demand, people have developed creative ways to incorporate oats into their diets to make them more appealing in dishes other than their normal porridge versions. Now let’s move on from the drenched bowl of oats to more appetizing oat-based dishes including idlis, dosas, uttapams, cookies, cakes, pies and smoothies.

1. Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter before adding one cup of applesauce, honey or brown sugar, cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Add water, then bring to a slow boil. For another 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, add the oats and finally, add your toppings of choice (walnuts or flax seeds).

2. Oat Idli

Light and fluffy cakes made from oats, and idlis are perfect for a quick breakfast or a healthy snack on the go. Quick and easy recipe oat idli is made with oats, dahi (yogurt), semolina, herbs and spices.

Grind one cup of cooking oats into a fine flour and add a small chopped carrot to it. Add spices (mustard seeds, gram dal, curry leaves and some chopped cashews) and temper. Gradually add half a cup of semolina (semolina) or rava and then add the oat flour. Mix well and let the mixture cool then you can choose to add any other vegetable of your choice and add about half a cup of curd (yogurt) along with a cup of water. Make idli with this batter which can be saved for later.

3. Oatmeal Cookies

Oatmeal cookies are so easy to make, their crisp, crispy and chewy texture will surprise you.

Prepare the cookie dough in the same way as the whole wheat flour cookie recipe, but instead add oat flour along with fine powdered sugar, cinnamon powder, and some vanilla essence. You can add rolled out oats with raisins for some crunchy texture and wrap the mixture and bake in a preheated oven. The resulting cookies will give you a delicious breakfast.

4. Chocolate Oatmeal

Chocolate Oatmeal looks like it would be too decadent to eat regularly for breakfast (and it tastes like it, too).

In a small pot, first, combine all the ingredients. It contains water, milk of your choice, rolled oats, chocolate powder, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract and salt.
