Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)
Although he is 45 years old. The year The older, the harder it is to bet against. Tom Brady. But Brady is not your average middle-aged QB. He’s a seven-time world champion, three-time NFL MVP who has something to say about football every Sunday. This explains why they just Will not be retired.. But does the GOAT have the guts to beat the Saints – a tough division rival – in Week 2?
Currently, oddsmakers at FOX Bet have the home team Saints as 2.5 point underdogs. New Orleans is led by the quarterback. James Winston, who returns this season after missing most of 2021 with an ACL injury. And when it comes to winning as an underdog at home, the odds are not in Winston’s favor.
As a starter at home as an underdog, Jameis is 8-11 straight up (SU). Timeless Tom, on the other hand, is 88-32 SU as a starter when his team is a road favorite.
Also, Tom Brady has won five straight road games, the longest active streak in the NFL.
Like we said, it’s hard to bet against Brady.
prediction:
Buccaneers 5 to 6 points
Carolina Panthers @ New York Giants (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)
The Panthers are on the move. They head to New York in Week 2 as 2.5-point road underdogs against the Giants.
But here’s the question every football fanatic needs an answer to. can do Baker Be like Beyonce and have her own renaissance in Carolina?
Well, based on what we saw in Week 1, Mayfield looks less like a superstar and more like an outsider. To be fair, it wasn’t all bad for Baker in Carolina’s loss to his old Browns. He just threw an interception. While he brought them back late in the game, he only threw for one touchdown.
Daniel Jones Leading the Giants’ offense, QB The Mannings claimed he was the best, next man up. While Jones Hasn’t quite lived up to the hype.New York’s first-year head coach Brian Daboll could be the key that changes the fortunes of Jones and the Giants. Also, running backs Saquon Barkley Averaged 9.1 yards per play in Giants Week 1 win The Titans. If Jones can’t get it through the air, Barkley will get it on the ground.
Something else to consider. The Panthers are on an eight-game losing streak last season.
The concrete jungle where dreams are made? This is where we’re rolling those dice.
prediction:
Giants 3 to 4 points
New England Patriots @ Pittsburgh Steelers (1 p.m. ET Sunday, CBS)
We wouldn’t bet against the dreaded towels in Week 2. And here’s why.
Mike Tomlin has it. Ridiculous record against the spread as an underdog. And FOX Bet’s line opens with Tomlin and the Steelers 1.5-point dogs. When we saw him, that was the cue for us to start singing “Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow.”
What about the Pats? Well, they didn’t have the best first game. The Patriots’ offense had three turnovers in Week 1. Dolphin. And they only scored seven points. The Steelers had seven sacks in Week 1, tied with that. Bulls A first in the NFL.
Since 2007, the Steelers are 11-6 SU as a home underdog under Mike Tomlin. So the message is loud and clear to us. Is it you?
Take Tomlin and the Steelers.
prediction:
Steelers 3 to 4 points
Washington Commanders @ Detroit Lines (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)
In Week 1, Washington’s QB Carson Wentz Threw for 313 yards and four touchdowns. Beautiful, very nice.
Superstar receiver Terry McLaren And the rookie receiver Jahan Dotson Caught late passes that helped lift the Commanders in their early game. Can they carry that momentum into Detroit and against the Lions?
Well, according to history, tigers can roar.
Dating back to 2009, the Lions are 5-1 in their last six games against Washington. Also, the Lions won the last matchup between these two squads in 2020, 30-27.
Detroit is 13-12 SU against NFC East opponents since 2010. The Lions also posted a 15-10 record against NFC East teams against the spread (ATS) during that span.
Motor City, we’re on board with you.
prediction:
1 to 2 points to Lions
Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers (4:05 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)
After his stellar Week 1 Monday Night Football performance, is it time to move on? Geno Smith As Seattle’s QB1? His 23-for-28 passing, 195 yards and two TDs helped the Hawks sneak past. Russell Wilson And the Broncos. So we should expect heroics from the Hawks in Week 2 against San Francisco, right?
Okay fine.
The Seahawks swept their season series against the Niners in 2021 and have won four straight against the Bay Boys. And in their last 13 games in September, the Hawks are 10-3.
Also, Pete Carroll has a pretty sneaky track record against the 49ers. With coach Carroll, the Seahawks are 17-7 ATS and 17-7 SU against the 49ers.
Unlike Ol Pete, coach Kyle Shanahan’s record against his NFC West rival is nothing to write home about. He is 4-6 ATS and 2-8 SU as a head coach when facing Seattle.
And then there’s Trey Lance, who passed for just 164 yards, no touchdowns and a Week 1 loss to the Bears in San Francisco. Tsk, tsk.
If last week was a glimpse of what Trey might look like in Week 2, we’re 1000% on board with the Hawks here.
prediction:
Seahawks 3 to 4 points
Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers (8:20 p.m. ET Sunday, NBC)
We were fine. Kirk Cousins And The Vikings‘ The renewed offense is big trouble for the pack. But obfuscating Green Bay two weeks in a row? Against Baloo? No we can’t.
Since 2015, the Bears are 2-12 SU against the Packers. And Chicago doesn’t do too well against the spread when playing Green Bay either. Since 2010, the Bears are 4-12 ATS against their NFC North rivals.
The Packers swept their season series against the Bears in 2021 and have won six straight matchups against Chicago. And since 2016, Green Bay is 11-1 against the Bears.
Need more convincing?
Aaron Rogers 60-35-1 ATS and 79-17 SU as a starter when his team is the home favorite. Bears QB Justin Fields 2-3 ATS and 1-4 SU as a starter when his team is a road underdog. Rodgers’ numbers don’t lie.
And Aaron Rodgers, despite falling to the Vikings, is still a bad guy.
prediction:
Packers 9 to 10 points
