14 people die in iron mine flood in China, 1 missing

BEIJING — Chinese authorities said Saturday that 14 people were killed and one is missing after a flood in an iron ore mine earlier this month.

The Tangshan city government said in a brief statement that the search and rescue operation had ended and the cause of the Sept. 2 flood was under investigation.
