Actor Ranveer Singh has claimed that someone has tampered with one of his pictures while recording his statement in the Ariyaan photo shoot case. He mentioned that one of the photos shared on social media – which was claimed to be part of the actor’s shoot in New York. The police have now sent the photo to a forensic science laboratory to confirm whether it has been altered. If it is found that the photo has been morphed, Singh is likely to get a clean chit as the FIR was registered on the basis that his private parts were visible in a photo, a source revealed. .
“In her statement, she has said that the seven pictures she posted on Instagram were not obscene and she was wearing underwear,” an officer said. He added that the photo in which the complainant alleged her ‘private parts are visible’ was morphed and not part of a photo shoot. He provided us with all the pictures taken during the photo shoot. The police team also checked his Instagram posts, which do not have the picture that the complainant had given.
The FIR was registered against Singh on the complaint of an NGO official who alleged that the actor had hurt the sentiments of women with his nude photos. The Mumbai police recorded the actor’s statement for two hours after he reached the Chamber police station on August 29 last month. “We had asked the actor to come to the police station by August 30. He went to the police station on August 29 at 7:30 am. and was at the police station till 9:30 am,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Krishnakant Upadhyay. Police officials said the actor was “fully cooperating” with investigators.
