Maryam Nawaz asks Imran Khan to dissolve Punjab, KP assemblies for fresh polls

Maryam Nawaz says religion card should not be used for political gain.

ISLAMABAD: Muslim League (N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Thursday told PTI Chairman Imran Khan that if they want a new general, they should dissolve the provincial assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. ElectionsHe said that religion card should not be used for political gain.

Talking to journalists in the federal capital, Maryam said that Khan Sahib rules two provinces and cannot escape by holding the federal government responsible for everything.

In response to a question, the PML-N leader said that she does not support any decision regarding the increase in the prices of petroleum products and electricity. He said that the coalition government should control it.

Maryam Nawaz said that the elections should be held at their scheduled time.

He complained to the government, “A man whose hands are stained with crime, faces no trial.”

Judges should also think why they are unknowingly giving an opportunity to “sedition”, the PML-N leader added.

In response to another question regarding the extension of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s tenure, Maryam Nawaz said that she will comment on it when the time comes.
